Diggia’s fate in MotoGP 2024 begins to see light

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Fabio Di Giannantonio’s fate next season seems to be starting to come to light. As is known, Diggia lost his seat in MotoGP after Marc Marquez decided to part ways with Repsol Honda and chose to race with Gresini Racing next season.

However, recently Diggia’s manager, Diego Tavano, said that he was optimistic that the Ducati satellite team rider would get a seat in MotoGP 2024.

The only chance to stay in the premier class is to join Mooney VR46, replacing Luca Marini who will almost certainly be playing for the Repsol Honda team next season.

Previously Mooney VR46 had appointed Fermin Aldeguer to replace Marini. However, negotiations with Aldeguer were tough. Moreover, the owner of the Speed ​​Up Moto2 team, Luca Boscoscura, has emphasized that he wants to keep Aldeguer on the team.

Not only that, Aldeguer will also receive an offer to join Pramac Racing in 2025, if he stays in Moto2 for one more season.

This has opened up opportunities for Digigia, Tavano even admitted that he had started negotiations with VR46.

“I finally see the light, after quite a difficult period. This suffering is not easy to endure. “I think something can work, we had the first chat with VR46, I’m optimistic,” said Tavano, quoted from Crash, Thursday (23/11/2023).

Diggia’s performance has improved sharply since it was confirmed that he would lose the Gresini seat. The Italian racer managed to finish fourth in Indonesia, then achieved his first podium in Australia.

It didn’t stop there, in the Qatar series, Diggia overtook standings leader Francesco Bagnaia and finally succeeded in achieving his first victory in the premier class.
