The Antwerp captain Toby Alderweireldjust like his coach, attacked the artificial pitch at Stayen after last night’s match (read here).
Criticisms to which Roland Duchâtelet wanted to react: “Mr. Alderweireld does not know what he is talking about. Players are always asked for their opinion and when they get frustrated, they start imitating others in absurd statements and look elsewhere for the cause of their own failure or defeat . What he says is simply not true,” the latter replied in Het Nieuwsblad.
“Unlike natural grass, no special machines are needed to grow the grass, because it only grows from eight degrees. Less water is also required for maintenance. The pitch of the STVV is therefore always in good condition, without holes or mud, even in winter,” punctuates the former leader of Sint-Truiden.
After responding to Brian Riemer’s criticism this summer (read here), Roland Duchâtelet is once again showing his claws to defend Stayen.
