Victor Bouleau, 19, is an archery champion who combines high level sports and studies. He explains how he manages to juggle his passion and his goals thanks to the Connected Campus.

Could you tell us about your background and your goals?

I am 19 years old and yes, I have had a great passion for archery since I was 12 years old. In 2020, I won the world barebow champion title. Then, after the health crisis, I switched to compound bow. In 2021, I finished 9th at the “under 18” world championships with the French team. In 2022, I win the school sports Olympics then the U21 indoor world championships. In 2023, I was selected for the French senior team, and I finished 4th individually and 2nd as a team at the World University Games in China. Finally, I am an ambassador for a Chinese brand of competition bows, “Sanlida”. I am constantly progressing and I appreciate the high level more and more!

How do you combine your studies with archery?

I was educated at Notre-Dame college then at Saint-Esprit high school in Beauvais, where I obtained my baccalaureate in mathematics and physics, with honors. I started a first year of mechanical engineering in Dijon, but it didn’t allow me to take face-to-face classes and go to training! I am enrolled in training accessible to high-level athletes at EM Lyon Business School. I am currently preparing a bachelor in business administration (BBA), remotely.

Isn’t it too difficult to study alone at home?

In fact, I decided to take my courses remotely at the Beauvais Connected Campus, because I did not want to stay isolated at home. The Connected Campus allows me to continue to maintain a student rhythm while maintaining social connections. I go there every morning to study, and every afternoon I do my archery training. This format is perfect for me!
What particularly appeals to you about the Connected Campus?
The quality of the infrastructure for working well, the equipment made available, and above all the good understanding between the students, the kindness and the cohesive activities. Tutoring is also very important. This device is really adapted to the constraints of high-level student athletes.

How and where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In the world’s top 10 in archery! Holder of my BBA and a Masters in Finance.
