Celebrating 50 Years of Nieppe Judo Club with Olympic Champion Lucie Decosse

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Nieppe Judo club, the day of Saturday November 18 will remain engraved in memories. Guest of honor, The club had invited Lucie Decosse, and her collection of gold and silver medals, to the European Championships, World Championships and to her two Olympic titles in Beijing and London. Coach of the French women’s team, she will participate in the organization of the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Lucie Decosse orchestrated a very technical course, reserved for adults during the morning and was supported by high-ranking 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th dan. The JCN has never received so many on the tatami mats.
At the end of the course, Marie Sandra, mayor of Nieppe, and Jérémy Lenoir, deputy delegate for sports, visited the judokas.
In the afternoon, the course was open to all, adults and children, the young people appreciated the kindness and explanations of Lucie Decosse.
Another distinguished guest: Jean-Luc Rougé, 9th dan, first Frenchman to have obtained the title of world champion of Judo in 1975 and numerous international titles.
This day of training continued with a photo and signing session, very popular with young and old alike!
Finally the staff of the Hauts-de-France Judo League and the Northern Judo Committee for the presentation of the Youth and Sports and Associative Engagement medal to Jean-Philippe Parent, 6th dan of Judo, former president of the Flanders Artois Judo League. Jean-Philippe was licensed in Nieppe for many years.
