Benjamin Pavard injured in knee with Inter

The French international was injured this Saturday against Atalanta and had to leave the field.

French international Benjamin Pavard left with a knee injury after half an hour of play during Inter Milan’s 2-1 victory against Atalanta Bergamo on Saturday. The defender suffers from “trauma to the left knee which will be assessed in the coming days,” the club said after the meeting.

On a corner in the 32nd minute, Pavard collided with Nigerian Atalanta striker Lookman and was injured when he fell. He immediately held his knee, grimacing, before leaving with a low limp, replaced by Matteo Darmian. The former Bayern player had taken part in Inter’s last six matches, lining up each time as a starter.

His injury could be bad news for the Nerazzurri before a trip to Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday. It comes five days before the announcement by Blues coach Didier Deschamps of the list for the two Euro-2024 qualifying matches against Gibraltar and Greece.
