Belgian Sensation Doku Sets Premier League Record with Historic Performance for Manchester City

The Belgian scored in the 30th minute to give the Citizens a 1-0 lead – and then followed up with four assists! A historic performance from the offensive star, who set a Premier League record.

Doku has become the eighth professional to score four assists in a Premier League game since Saturday. Doku thus joined an elite group of players who also achieved this feat: Paul Pogba, Harry Kane, Santi Cazorla, Emmanuel Adebayor, Cesc Fabregas, José Antonio Reyes and Dennis Bergkamp – although none of these were professionals at the time the record was set younger than the 21-year-old documentary.

“It’s so easy in this team,” explained the Belgian after his historic appearance on Sky Sports. Every one of his teammates is “top. And when you play with top players, it’s easy to find the right pass or the right timing to do something.”

Before his gala performance against Bournemouth, Doku had scored once in the Premier League and in the Champions League, but now his knot has finally burst. City coach Pep Guardiola was simply impressed by the performance of his new offensive star: “It wasn’t the first time this season. “He was fantastic in all the games he played here,” enthused the Spaniard.

“He surprised us all. He reads every action exactly as he should. There is his quality near the penalty area. It’s incredible how quickly he can change rhythm within five meters. That impresses me. That’s why he’s already a great footballer.”

Doku still has a contract in Manchester until June 2028, Guardiola would like to work with him for a long time: “Hopefully he can stay for many, many years.”
