Aysén Judo Champion Noel Muñoz Wins Gold at Araucanía Binational Games


Noel Muñoz won the weight minus 81 to 90 kgs. in a contest held in Bariloche.

Another gold for Aysén was achieved by judo at the Araucanía Binational Games in the province of Río Negro, this time with the notable performance of Noel Muñoz.

The Aysén judo team had already had to celebrate previously with the triumph of Valentina Altamirano who won the 48 kilo weight class and won the first gold medal and now it was the turn of Noel Muñoz who won the category less than 81 kg. at 90 kgs.

The Aysen native stood firm on the tatami installed at the Bariloche Firefighters Club and after winning his first fights he entered the semifinals where he defeated Iancarlos Loaiza (Los Lagos)

Already installed in the final, he faced Carlos Quinchén (Magallanes) and after a tough fight he sent him to the tatami with one of his movements.

This is the third medal in judo, as there is also a bronze with Lucas Figueroa in 55 kg. The team is led by the Chilean national team who was recently in the Pan American Games Camila Lagos.

This Friday the 17th the judo competition ends with the team competition.
