Assumption. The American cities of Atlanta and Miami will host the opening and final matches of the Copa América 2024, announced the South American Soccer Confederation (Conmebol).

The opening match will be played on Thursday, June 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which has capacity for 71,000 spectators.

The final, meanwhile, will be played on Sunday, July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, a modern multipurpose complex where, among other events, the Miami Tennis Open and the Formula 1 Grand Prix take place.

We expect venues filled with passion from across the American continent for the opening and finale of an unforgettable Copa América. In Atlanta, the ball will start rolling and will not stop for a month, until the final game. They are magnificent stadiums in wonderful cities, said the president of Conmebol, Alejandro Domínguez, on social networks.

Conmebol has not yet clarified when the rest of the venues for the oldest national team tournament in the world will be announced.

In addition to the ten member associations of the South American confederation, six Concacaf teams will participate in the contest, which is being held in the United States for the second time.

The exciting prospect of co-organizing the 2024 Copa América with our partners at Conmebol will consolidate our region as the center of this sport ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, said Víctor Montagliani, president of the Confederation of North America, Central America and Caribbean Soccer (Concacaf).

The draw for the continental tournament will be held in Miami on December 7. The six Concacaf teams will qualify through that confederation’s Nations League, currently in the quarterfinal stage.
