Arrivals and Departures: A Busy Summer in Sclessin for Standard

It’s been a busy summer in Sclessin. In the sense of arrivals, but also departures.

By Arnaud Bodart and Aron Dönnum, the latter was not the most likely to leave Standard this summer. Appointed captain by Carl Hoefkens, the Norwegian seemed determined to play his role after a last season where he completely found himself.

During this time, Arnaud Bodart was flirted with by several foreign clubs, notably from the Bundesliga, without this coming to fruition. Toulouse also came forward but “I was never their priority” explains Bodart in the capital.

However, given the lack of liquidity of the Standard, a surprise could not be ruled out: “”The club was counting on a possible sale to obtain new money, as was the case with Aron Dönnum. This is why we should not blame him for going to Toulousebecause he didn’t have much choice.” Toulouse finally turned to the great hope Guillaume Restes to succeed Maxime Dupé, who left for Anderlecht.
