Alavés overwhelms Granada

Deportivo Alavés overwhelmed Granada this Friday with a resounding 3-1 that confirmed the good feelings of the Basque team and ended up setting off all the alarms in a Nasrid team that cannot react.

An early own goal by Raúl Torrente in the eleventh minute paved the way for the Albiazules, who were very forceful in front of goal. At half-time they were already leading 2-0 with another goal from Abde Rebbach in the 38th minute and shortly after going through the locker room, Samu Omorodion, one of the most outstanding players, closed the duel.

Only Uzuni was able to close the gap from eleven meters in a clash dominated by the Alavesistas.

The meeting began very lively, without field and with constant arrivals of the two teams. Granada planted itself in Antonio Sivera’s domain with more danger.

But the speed of the locals began to make a difference and after eleven minutes they had already taken the lead. A dizzying counterattack well led by Jon Guridi ended with an own goal from Raúl Torrente, after trying to clear a shot from Samu Omorodion, who made a perfect unmarking to chase down a pass from Javi López.

The Alava parish claimed the maximum penalty on two occasions, but the referee did not consider it that way in the most difficult moments for Granada, beaten after the conceded goal.

While Paco López’s team recomposed itself, the Glorioso brought sparks to his left wingthe most productive during the middle of the first round.

The visitors began to be chased by their haste when they saw themselves from behind, although they insisted on blocking the exit of their rival through Ander Guevara, who was closely monitored at all times.

But Granada’s centre-backs had to pay close attention to players like Luis Rioja, who looked for the overflow at all times, and to the speed of Samu Omorodion.

The Andalusian team changed its approach in several phases and opted for the long ball to connect with its offensive references, Uzuni and Lucas Boyé, who started strongly but gradually faded.

The disorder of the Paco López came to light again and again It happened on his right wing. Jon Guridi found an open door and connected with Abde Rebbach, who, unable to pass, placed the ball on his right leg to beat André Ferreira at the far post in the 38th minute.

The break activated Granada, who once again found their best version to reach the local goal with danger, although they neglected their back so much that Alavés’ speed once again put the Nasrid defense in trouble.

The local defenders were forced to bail out and clear compromised balls against a Granada that did not stop insisting, but without making Antonio Sivera work.

A new error by Paco López’s team caused a dangerous recovery by Alavés near the rival area and Samu Omorodion once again demonstrated his great moment by finishing off a good ball from Luis Rioja with pleasure to close the match.

The final phase of the duel served for the babazorros to receive several ovations in the substitutions made by Luis García Plaza and for Granada to show pride with everything against them.

Paco López’s men scored with a penalty converted by Uzuni in the final stretch and Antonio Sivera saved the second in added time of a match in albiazul.
