3×3 Paris Aims for Qualification in Hong Kong Masters

Objective Jeddah. 3×3 Paris is attacking the last Master of the season in Hong Kong with the desire to place its name in 12th place in the world, synonymous with qualification for the grand world final of the 3×3 circuit, in Saudi Arabia (December 8-9). Before this meeting in the Chinese archipelago this weekend (November 25-26), the FFBB professional team is in 15th place but several teams are still in the race for this ticket. A qualification is therefore mathematically possible.

The Tricolores will not advance as favorites but calm after their very first success in a Masters, in Wuxi, at the beginning of November, the highest level in the world in 3×3, overthrowing in the final the Serbs of Ub, undisputed world number one. A big blow for their second victory on the circuit after a Challenger (2nd level) in Bordeaux at the end of July, beating in the final the American team from Miami, 2nd in the last World Cup.

In Honk Kong, the quartet, composed of Franck Séguéla, Paul Djoko, Vincent Fauché and Jules Rambaut, intends to ride the dynamic of Wuxi. “We beat three Serbian teams in this tournament and we beat the number one team in the world, we put a little pill on them (22-11 in the final), smiles Franck Séguéla, MVP of the tournament and French number one. Obviously it’s nice, we were super happy. But we only beat them once. it gives us confidence for the future but we have to remain very humble because in 3×3, you pay cash if you see yourself more beautiful than what you are. »

If 3×3 Paris fails to enter the world top 12, there remains a possible place for Jeddah, granted to the team having compiled the most victories on the international circuit (Master and Challenger). 3×3 Paris is also well placed in the race for this ticket.

“After the last tournament, we see the end of the season in a positive light,” assures Séguéla. The victory in Wuxi hid our Challenger final in Goa just before (November 2), which is already super cool for a French team. We go there confidently, but we know that’s why we love 3×3: a surprise can happen at every turn. This is why we continue to train. We know that the tide can turn quickly. »
