2024 NFL Draft Order: Rams charging toward top 5, Bucs enter top 10

Nine weeks have been played, and there are nine to still to come in the 2023 NFL season. The picture atop the 2024 NFL Draft is becoming clearer — though with plenty of football still to be played, and only two games separating the NFL’s worst team from its sixth-worst, so much remains to be decided as several franchises look longingly toward the future.

Here is the updated draft order, now that all Week 9 games have been completed.

Current 2024 NFL Draft order

Arizona Cardinals: 1-8 record, .535 strength of scheduleChicago Bears (from Carolina): 2-7, .479 strength of scheduleChicago Bears (their own selection)New York Giants: 2-7, .524 SOSNew England Patriots: 2-7, .551 SOSLos Angeles Rams: 3-6, .521 SOSGreen Bay Packers: 3-5, .459 SOSTampa Bay Buccaneers: 3-5, .490 SOSDenver Broncos: 3-5, .521 SOSTennessee Titans: 3-5, .549 SOS

The Los Angeles RamsSuper Bowl champions just two seasons ago — fell to 3-6 after a 20-3 loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The Rams have a bye in Week 10, but they have upcoming games against the Seahawks, Ravens, Saintsand 49ers — all teams expected to make the playoffs. They could realistically pick in the top five for the first time since trading up to #1 to select Jared Goff in 2016 — which, in fact, is the last time The Angels had a first-round pick.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have flatlined after a 3-1 start and lost a high-scoring matchup to C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans on Sunday. Before the season, many analysts expected Tampa Bay would select somewhere in the top five of the 2024 draft, and the Bucs are now within shouting distance after extending their losing streak to four games.

But the Cardinals‘ six-game losing skid is the NFL’s longest, and it has Arizona in pole position for the top overall selection. However, Kyler Murray‘s activation from the PUP list on Tuesday could lead to the Cardinals playing spoiler in the second half of the season — a healthy star quarterback could produce a couple extra wins on his own.
