From November 4th to 5th, the 2023 Fourth “Kahage Cup” Chinese University Alumni Badminton Mixed Team Competition was held at the Jiageng Stadium. A total of 481 players from 32 teams composed of alumni from 45 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Xiamen University, etc. will gather in the United States and play passionately.
The “Kah Kee Cup” China University Badminton Series started in 2018 and consists of three sub-events: staff competition, student competition, and alumni competition. Among them, the Chinese University Alumni Badminton Mixed Team Competition was created in 2020 and is open to university alumni across the country. It aims to promote cultural exchanges between schools and villages through “making friends with the ball” and to help Jimei’s economic development through “using the ball to attract business”. The organizer said that the series of competitions has not only become another brand event for Jimei District to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Jiageng, but also an effective carrier to highlight the multicultural characteristics of Jimei Mei Village. “We will further leverage the advantages of alumni talents and gradually build a national university alumni entrepreneurship and innovation Ecosphere.”
This competition is jointly organized by the Jimei District Jimei Sub-district Office, Jimei District Culture and Tourism Bureau, Jimei Cultural District Management Committee, Jimei District Committee of the Communist Youth League, and hosted by the Jimei District Badminton Association.
