1st European Championship medal has been won: Belgian cyclo-cross riders conquer bronze in mixed relay | European Cyclocross Championships

The mixed relay kicked off the European Cyclocross Championships in Pontchâteau today.

With only 5 teams at the start, the mixed relay did not attract too much interest.

Belgium sent 3 men and 3 women into the pasture: juniors Naud De Clercq and Shanyl De Schoesitter, promises Yorben Lauryssen and Xaydee Van Sinaey and elites Witse Meeussen and Sanne Cant.

Our compatriots did not play for the European title. Host country France towered above the competition: final rider Joshua Dubau was able to celebrate the title at the finish.

The United Kingdom finished in 2nd place at 33 seconds. In the battle for bronze, Belgian final rider Witse Meeussen held off the Czech Republic and Italy.

Due to the stormy weather, there will be nothing to do at the European Cyclocross Championships tomorrow. Saturday’s 3 crosses have been moved to Sunday, meaning 6 European champions will be crowned the day after tomorrow.
