Underdogs Eupen Succumb to Ostend in Croky Cup Clash

Eupen and Ostend are both at the bottom of their rankings and could certainly use a nice cup story.

It was the West Flemish visitors who got off the starting blocks fastest. After just 3 minutes, Daniel Perez, hired from Club Brugge, headed home after a good cross from Cederic Van Daele.

Eupen did not give in. The home team took decisive control of the first half and Magnée aimed twice at the post. Finnbogason and Davidson also targeted the Ostend goalkeeper Gabriel.

Ostend went to rest with a flattering lead, but the Kustboys no longer ran into problems in the second half. In fact, the visitors became the most dangerous team after the introduction of club top scorer Berte.

It was Berte who made the decision fifteen minutes before the end after he scored the 0-2 from a corner kick. Eupen no longer responded and even swallowed a red card for Davidson.

A first division team immediately falls in the Croky Cup.
