Born from a few willing associations, today, after three years, the Solidarity Day – from this year also of Associations – has been able to bring together all those cultural, social and sporting associations historically involved in the area in implementing bottom-up, supportive and sustainable initiatives.
Among the stands set up by the associations, there are many examples of civil economy, participation, cooperation and implementation of projects capable of having a concrete impact on the well-being of the community, leaving aside the traditional logic of profit. The Solidarity and Association Festival celebrated these principles, which are also shared values and inspiration for the Di Bernardo Administration, promoter of the initiative.
The importance of encouraging adherence to the economic paradigm of the civil economy, centered on “generativity”, public happiness and well-being, was reiterated this morning by Mayor Mirko Di Bernardo and prof. Leonardo Becchetti of the University of Tor Vergata, who spoke at the opening of the day in an open discussion with the citizens present, after the greetings of the Councilor delegated to Associations Marisa Memesi, the Councilor delegated to Participation Luigi Spalletta and the citizen delegated to Civil Economy Elisa Longobardi.
“Our goal is to promote a community based on participation. Sharing is in fact one of the factors that has allowed us to make our Administration’s projects more effective and in line with the needs of citizens – said Mayor Mirko Di Bernardo -. Pursuing public happiness means encouraging bottom-up initiatives, encouraging relationships and offering spaces and opportunities for aggregation.”
“I thank – said the Mayor on the sidelines of the meeting – Professor Becchetti for his always welcome participation. I also thank the Councilor delegated for Associationism Marisa Memesi and the Councilor delegated for Participation Luigi Spalletta, for their great work in organizing the initiative. Finally, I thank Capodarco for the hospitality and the Pro Loco of Grottaferrata together with all the Cryptense associations, which are a pride of our city and which I thank for having participated with so much commitment”.
The Solidarity and Association Festival will continue throughout today, until this evening.
