The Port of Valencia is committed to accelerating the northern expansion |

The Port of Valencia (Spain) aims to accelerate the northern expansion of its facilities under the leadership of its new president, Mar Chao. During a recent public appearance, Chao reiterated the legality of all technical procedures that have preceded the final approval of the northern expansion project.

The president expressed her commitment to “work tirelessly” to complete this expansion in the shortest possible time, since it is considered a project of great importance for the future of the Valencian port. Furthermore, she highlighted that the Valencian enclave occupies a leadership position that must be maintained and, if possible, strengthened.

Likewise, Mar Chao emphasized the Port Authority’s willingness to support projects that stimulate the local and national economy, demonstrating its openness to initiatives that benefit users and clients. Regarding traffic prospects, the president expressed caution due to global economic uncertainty, although she also expressed hope that declines will stabilize in September.

The Valencian enclave has managed to stand out not only for its facilities, but also for its tourist offer. In this sense, the cruise ship “Silver Nova”, belonging to the Silversea shipping company, has visited the facilities of the Port of Valencia for the first time.

Following the Valencian maritime and port tradition, the Port Authority of Valencia, represented by its Head of Cruises, Francesca Antonelli, awarded the ship’s captain, Alessandro Zanello, the traditional “socarrat” made of Valencian clay. In turn, the captain delivered a present to the Port Authority with the typical “metope” commemorating the first stopover made in Valencia.
