Erik ten Hag is considering letting Antony play for Manchester United in the Champions League match against Galatasaray on Tuesday. The English club have included the Brazilian striker in their squad despite allegations of domestic violence.

“We are considering letting Antony play,” Ten Hag said in a press conference on Monday. “Yesterday he trained with the selection for the first time. There will be another group training. Then we will make a decision.”

United recently welcomed Antony back to the training pitch after he was accused of domestic violence, assault and threats by his ex-girlfriend. The former Ajax player and the club continue to cooperate with police investigations. The attacker denies all accusations.

The attacker last played for United on September 3 against Arsenal. “It is good news that Antony is back,” said Ten Hag.

Martínez out of circulation for a long time

Ten Hag confirmed that Lisandro Martínez will soon have to undergo another operation on his foot. The defender suffered the injury in April. The Argentinian was on the mend, but the injury has now worsened again.

“Martínez will not be available for some time,” Ten Hag said. English media expect that the former Ajax player will not play again this calendar year.

United will play Galatasaray at Old Trafford on Tuesday from 9 p.m. Ten Hag’s team lost the first Champions League group match against Bayern Munich 4-3.
