Tänak leads Chile Rally after the second stage by almost a minute

“It was an extremely successful day. But it’s not over yet. We have to continue like this on Sunday,” said the Ford driver.

World championship leader and defending champion Finland Kalle Rovanperä is fifth before the final four timed stages, 2:24 minutes behind Tänak. The British Elfyn Evans and the Belgian Thierry Neuville, who still have a theoretical chance for the title, figure in third and fourth positions, respectively.

Rovanperä leads the championship by 33 points ahead of Evans, Neuville is 66 points behind the Finn. After Chile, there will also be the Central European Rally in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria at the end of October and the Japanese Rally in November.
