There are now only a few hours left until the opening of the sixth edition of the Sports Festival in Trento. The Trentino capital responded presently and is very ready to turn pink again to welcome international athletes. The “starting whistle” is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday 12 October, at 9.30 am with “Gazza Cafè”, guest of the Trentino middle-distance runner Nadia Battocletti. On the same day, at 6 pm, there will be “The Grand Inauguration” at the Teatro Sociale with the presence of the Italian golden ball Roberto Baggio.
For the entire duration of the Festival the city will also be the setting for various camps scattered throughout the streets of the historic centre. In Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore it will be possible to train in the company of the best experts of the Italian Sports Climbing Federation and the great climbing champions. In Piazza Cesare Battisti you can train with some of the greatest talents of the Italian Judo, wrestling, karate and martial arts Federation. The Basketball camp will be set up in Piazza Fiera together with the Padel camp, one of the most popular sports at the moment.
Thursday 12 October
On the inaugural day we note the Meet & Greet at 2pm in Piazza Dante with Yuri Chechi, legend of the rings, and Clemente Russo, Olympic vice-champion in boxing in Beijing and London. Then, for football lovers, the show “La Liga dei champions” will be staged at the Teatro Sociale, in which the president of the league, Javier Tebas, and the former Real Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casilias, will be guests. In the evening, starting from 7.30 pm in the Sala Depero it will be possible to meet the two-wheel champions, Andrea Dovizioso and Tony Cairoli. To end the first day in style, Santa Chiara will be on stage in the Auditorium Play Bonitowith the Brazilian ace Ronaldinho, golden ball winner with the Barcelona shirt in 2005.
Friday 13 October
On the second day of the Festival, Friday 13 October, Trento is ready to welcome the former swimmer Massimiliano Rosolino, the Italian fencing champions Valentina Vezzali and Alice Volpi, the Formula One driver Yuki Tsunoda and the former Ukrainian center forward Andriy Shevchenko . The day will end with speeches by Antonio Conte, former Italian coach, the cyclist Filippo Ganna and the former tennis player Boris Becker.
Saturday 14 October
Saturday 14 October will have as guests at the Teatro Sociale Urbano Cairo, president and CEO of RCS MediaGroup, and Sofia Goggia, skier. In the afternoon, Beppe Marotta, CEO of Inter, and Mike Powell, former US athlete and world record holder in the specialty since 1991, will speak. The day will continue with other world-class guests such as Filippo Tortu, Olympic champion of the 4×100 relay meters at the Tokyo 2020 Games, and Andrea Pirlo, world champion with the Italian national team in 2006. In the evening, guests will be Andrea Barzagli and Claudio Marchisio, pillars of the latest successes of Juventus and the Italian national team.
Sunday 15 October
On the final day of Sunday 15 October, football will once again be the absolute protagonist with guests with over a thousand goals in their career, such as Filippo Inzaghi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. But not only. Volleyball players Paola Egonu and Miriam Sylla will also speak, as well as former tennis players Flavia Schiavone and Francesca Pennetta. The Festival will end on a high note, or rather on a high note, thanks to the contributions of Matteo Tamberi and Mutaz Essa Barshim, high jump champions.
