Saprissa Looks to Turn the Tide Against Puntarenas in Crucial Match

Date 15 catches Saprissa at a not entirely comfortable moment. Between the elimination from Concacacf at the hands of Real Estelí and a defeat against Herediano, the storm clouds have settled over Tibás, but this Tuesday there is a chance that the horizon will clear.

The Tibaseños have just qualified for the final of the Cup Tournament at the expense of the Florenses and the Apertura puts them on the field, today at 8 pm, against a Puntarenas that on paper looks affordable.

The purple ones arrive as leaders of the table, while the orange ones are sixth, and have three losses, a draw and a win in their last five games.

The historical balance also favors the Tibeseños. The last five times that the elevences have been measured, there were three victories for Saprissa, one draw and only one celebration for those from Puntarenas.

In the first round game, the purple team got three points from Lito Pérez, a 2-4 lead with goals from Ariel Rodríguez and a hat trick from Javon East.
