Another knockout in Puglia for Andrea Costa, defeated in San Severo after a two-faced match. The red and whites (followed by a nice group of fans) dominated the first part, digging a gap thanks to the shot from the arc (1222 at the end of the first half) but allowed themselves to recover, until the final overtaking. Imola starts well and with Corcelli it’s 23-28 in the 13th minute. San Severo doesn’t react, restrained by the area, while Andrea Costa has a very hot hand from long range, up to the deserved +18. San Severo presses hard at the start of the third quarter and blocks the Imola attack (2 points in 5′) until 45-51. Drocker brings back strength and the free throws reward Imola who finds the double-digit margin with Ranuzzi at the last break. The match escalates in the last quarter between unsportsmanlike and technical behavior (Colombo sent off) and San Severo comes close again (63-68) taking advantage of the blackout in Imola. Drocker’s blaze is not enough and the hosts strike from the arc. The inertia comes from San Severo and Guastamacchia delivers the knockout blow.
