On Friday night, Castellanos became the first player in MLB history to hit multiple home runs in consecutive playoff games. “Incredible,” said Castellanos, “these are moments I will never forget.”
For the Phillies, who lost to the Houston Astros in the World Series last season, it was the decisive third win in the best-of-five series in the National League Division Series against the Braves in game four.
The Phillies’ next opponents are the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL Championship Series starting Monday. The goal is to win the World Series for the third time after 1980 and 2008. “We still have to get eight wins,” said Castellanos.
In the second semifinal, the American League Championship Series, the defending champion Houston Astros, who had previously eliminated the Minnesota Twins led by Berlin professional Max Kepler, and the Texas Rangers will face each other from Sunday.
