Real Madrid trainers invite themselves to the football club of a small village in Moselle

Small town near Thionville, Veymerange (Moselle) and its football club had not planned this. “It’s absolutely crazy, it concerns everyone in the region! enthuses William Pedrini, the president of CS Veymerange (CSVE). Imagine: Real Madrid for two weeks with us! »

The information actually seems improbable a priori: around ten trainers from the largest professional football club in the world have set down their bags for two weeks – until the beginning of November – on the Veymerange pitches. Among the 550 CSVE licensees, nearly 170 young people aged 6 to 17 rushed for the opportunity to experience the Spanish club’s games and training sessions.

The best will be invited to internships

With several daily sessions, the CSVE therefore experiences a fortnight with the high technicality of exercises worthy of the very high level. Ball control guided by LED lamps, quasi-scientific integration of notions of ball speed: “Nothing is left to chance,” continues an impressed William Pedrini, whose young players have all been dressed in the white Madrid outfit which was, for a long time, that of Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo, predecessors of the current Bellingham and Camavinga.

Not fooled, the president knows that Real Madrid’s approach in French clubs, renowned as world champions in training, responds to an approach to detecting future talents. The best young footballers, identified by the Spanish staff, will be invited to training courses in Madrid structures.
