Quartararo finally felt like parking his motorbike again closed park. The French racer became the third racer to touch the finish line at the Mandalika Circuit. This is Quartararo’s third podium in the 15 series that have been held, after he got a podium in a similar position in the Indian MotoGP and the United States MotoGP.

“This (the third podium in Mandalika is) the best podium this year,” said Quartararo, quoted from Crash. “In India I was nine seconds behind Bezzecchi and in Austin I was on the podium but I was a bit too far from the winner,” he continued.

In the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP, Quartararo is only 0.4 seconds away from champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo). Quartararo even had a very narrow gap with Maverick Vinales (Aprilia Racing) who finished in second place.

“Today, I really recovered to the top two positions and really caught them because of my speed. Not because of the consequences in the race. This is the best podium this year, but Australia is different,” continued Quartararo.

“Last year we suffered a lot and this is a track where you have to look after the tyres. It will be complicated,” he said again.

“(So this was a) extraordinary race! Especially the second part of the race. To be honest, my feeling (Sunday) this morning was not good in the first laps. In the warm-up lap I pushed a lot because we had difficulty warming up the rear tire and then after 2-3 “The laps were all fine. Our pace in the middle of the race was good and even though I couldn’t try to overtake, it was a great race,” continued Quartararo.

“I think I was 3.5 seconds away from Pecco at one stage of the race. Finishing the match so close was a good thing for us,” he said.
