Putin supporter and former F-1 boss Ecclestone has been sentenced to an astronomical fine

Ecclestone appeared in court on Thursday, October 12, where he pleaded guilty to tax fraud.

The former F-1 boss will be forced to pay a fine of 800 million US dollars (753 million euros) in compensation.

It is reported that he hid 463 million euros from the British government, which was located in Singapore. In court, when asked if he has any financial assets outside Great Britain, Ecclestone answered in the negative, which means he lied.

Ecclestone’s representative also stated in court that the former official’s health deteriorated significantly during the legal proceedings.

Ecclestone has been in the spotlight in recent years for not the best reasons. Shortly after the start of the war in Ukraine, he admitted that he would be ready to take a bullet instead of the war criminal Putin.

This year, however, the 92-year-old Ecclestone revealed that he had known about the infamous 2008 Singapore GP scandal, but decided not to act. He himself admitted that the results of this race should have been annulled, as a result of which Felipe Massa started legal proceedings and the fight for the right to the 2008 world champion title.
