MotoGP. Johann Zarco wants to reclaim legend Marc Marquez’s place at Repsol Honda

In an interview given this Thursday morning to the site Motorsport.comJohann Zarco reiterated his desire to succeed six-time champion Marc Marquez – who left for Gresini (Ducati) – riding a machine from the official Repsol Honda team, even if he has already signed up for two years with the satellite team of the Japanese brand LCR.

“I have to wait a bit to see how Honda wants to manage the future because at the moment Honda hasn’t really expressed its positions. By having a contract with Honda, taking Marc’s place could make sense. As a competitor and simply a driver, Marc (Marquez’s) place presents itself, we have to make sure we take it.”

The Vauclusian also understands the position of his future boss at LCR, Lucio Cecchinello, who would not view this last minute change favorably: “If he doesn’t have me, it’s complicated for him”. All confirming that: “There is no conflict” with him.

Will Johann Zarco’s desire to join the official Repsol Honda team be heard by the managers of the Japanese firm? While the Indonesian Grand Prix is on the program this weekend, their main target would be the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira.
