ProSieben and ProSieben MAXX Announce Dream Team for NBA Season on ran.de

The NBA season on ProSieben, ProSieben MAXX and ran.de is at the door. Part of the on-air team will also celebrate its debut with the game between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers.

Dream team for the NBA! With this “Starting Five”, ProSieben and ProSieben MAXX are entering the upcoming season of the strongest basketball league in the world.

Christoph “Icke” Dommisch moderates the live broadcasts of ranNBA.

Sports journalist Alexander Schlüter works as a moderator and commentator.

The former national player Hope Amojorecord national player Patrick Femerling and the record player in the Basketball Bundesliga Alex King accompany the NBA broadcasts as experts.

Ireti Amojo thrilled viewers with her expertise during the broadcasts of the Basketball World Cup on “Magenta Sport”.

“I’m very happy to be part of this new, exciting project. We have a very experienced and well-rehearsed production team who will put together a great show and I’m really looking forward to working with the great presenters, commentators and experts to work together,” says Amojo, who played 21 games for the German national team as an active player.

Patrick Femerling once played with Dirk Nowitzki

Patrick Femerling brings a wealth of experience at the highest level of European basketball. Femerling appeared on the floor 221 times in the DBB jersey and won World Cup bronze alongside Dirk Nowitzki in 2002 and European Championship silver in 2005. He also recently impressed as an expert in broadcasting the Basketball World Cup.

Alex King: The BBL record player in the ranNBA team

Alex King agrees ran his TV debut. The 38-year-old ended his active career in the summer of 2022. With 638 games in the BBL, King is the record player in the German league. With Frankfurt and Munich he became champion three times (2004, 2018 and 2019). He is particularly excited about the German World Cup heroes: “Dennis Schröder is a true ambassador for German basketball in the NBA. The Wagner brothers bring enormous energy to the NBA. Their successes are inspiring for young German basketball players. I’m happy I look forward to further promoting enthusiasm for basketball in Germany.”

British-born Liam Carpenter came to Germany to play basketball. He first played for MTSV Schwabing in Munich, and from 2015 he was active for the Crailsheim Merlins. The 1.87 meter tall development player played a total of twelve games in the easyCredit Bundesliga (BBL). Today he inspires millions of people on his social media channels. His depiction of “typically German” clichés is particularly well received.

Alex Vogel recently accompanied the NBA on the streaming platform “DAZN” and comments on the Euroleague for “Magenta Sport”. In addition to his role as a commentator and TV expert, Vogel also acts as athletic director at MLP Academics Heidelberg.

Jan Lüdeke: Rugby and basketball expert

Matthias Killing is no stranger to ProSiebenSat.1 viewers. Because of his work at “Sat.1 breakfast television,” he has no problems with the tip-off times, which are sometimes difficult from a German perspective.

Jan Lüdeke is currently a commentator on the 2023 Rugby World Cup on ProSieben and ProSieben MAXX, but is also no newcomer to basketball. For “Magenta Sport” he covered the 2019 World Cup, the 2022 European Championships and the German basket hunters’ famous World Cup title in the summer of 2023.

Markus Krawinkel is probably best known to long-time NBA fans in Germany. In the past he has commented on the NBA for “Spox” and “Sky”, among others.

The NBA will start the new 2023/24 season next night. The reigning champion Denver Nuggets welcome the Los Angeles Lakers with superstar LeBron James. ProSieben, ran.de and Joyn will broadcast the opening game live on the night of Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 1:05 a.m.
