Origen-UVA shows dominance in victory over Semillas Adolfo Martínez

The Origen-UVA of Valladolid confirmed at the San Andrés Sports Center that it is one of the strong candidates to fight for promotion to the Women’s League 2 and clearly defeated Semillas Adolfo Martínez (39-74) on the fourth day of the First Division Feminine. It was difficult for Club Soria Baloncesto to score points (they only added eight in the opening quarter, nine in the last and eleven in each of the other two), which tipped the balance on the side of the Valladolid team, which is, together with the University from Burgos Babieca, the only one who has won the three games he has played so far. The positive note of the match was played by Olivia Gómez, the junior who is still 15 years old, who becomes the first youth player to debut this season in the First Division.

Clara Pérez added 15 points in a clash in which Semillas Adolfo Martínez started with great predisposition and competitiveness, which disappeared as the minutes passed. The interior from Burgos was not part of an initial quintet that was made up of Laura Marina, Irati Luzuriaga from Alava, Paula Vallejo, Laura González and Jennifer Verde. Apart from the junior Olivia Gómez – she remained on the court for ten minutes – María Ledesma, Laia González, the Cantabrian Naia Gómez, the Burgos Elena Sáez and the Cáceres Ana Álvarez also played. 8:45 of the first quarter had already been played and Origen-UVA only won 6-7. At that moment, the Valladolid players scored the first of their seven triples – the Sorianas did not convert any – and began to distance themselves on the scoreboard.

Olivia Gómez took the court at 5:03 before halftime, when Semillas Adolfo Martínez was losing 12-22. The Soria Baloncesto Club made mistakes in defense that allowed the Origen-UVA players to find better ball circulation. The locals lost 19-42 at halftime and suffered occasional disconnections that allowed their rivals to finish quick counterattacks that increased their advantage quickly. Semillas Adolfo Martínez is located in fifth place in the classification and will pay a visit next Saturday to one of the three teams that has not yet opened its victory locker: Contienes Castro Baloncesto Venta de Baños de Palencia. The other two are Arelsa Villares from Salamanca and Canto 5 Filipenses, which the Sorianas beat on the opening day.
