Olympic Committee will work to support athletes for Paris 2024 – El Sol de México

Santiago.- Mexico’s great performance in Santiago 2023 is just the beginning of the journey. María José Alcalá, president of the Mexican Olympic Committee, assured that from now on the objective is that the athletes who have the possibility of doing well in Paris 2024 have everything necessary to meet expectations.

“Right now what we have to see is, of all the Olympic sports that are going to be in Paris, is how many we still need to obtain a ticket, and those that are already selected, how to give them the best conditions, I think it is not easy but neither is it We are afraid of what is difficult, so we have to do it,” said the board.

With just under nine months until the summer event, the president of the COM knows that the work to ensure that the athletes arrive in the best possible conditions will be arduous, however, there is time to do it.

“We have to see that the athletes are focused, that everything goes well for Paris, there is a more difficult job ahead than now and we have to be very attentive. The delegation must be structured very well, so that the coaches who have to be there go, so that we are not all stressed at the end of the road to get the resources, if the doctors are promoted or discharged, so that we are all stable. That’s the goal.”

Expectations have increased for Paris 2024

The good results in both Santiago 2023 and San Salvador 2023 have fueled expectations for Paris, something permitted, but which should not cloud reality.
