Olbia. Great result at the – TROFEO ITALIA VENETO JUDO 2023 – Debut. B Under 15. Turning point in Ponzano in Veneto, the fourth and final stage of the national circuit. There were two athletes competing from Kan Judo Olbia accompanied by Maestro Angelo Calvisi c. n 5th dan.
We read in a note: “Jacopo Merone in the 73 kg. He gets on the podium again on the national stage, after the gold medal won two weeks ago in the third and penultimate national stage held in Sardinia he repeats himself on Venetian soil, winning an excellent bronze , the result of 4 matches won and one lost. A total of two medals in two participations (the other two stages in other regions were skipped) despite this the results obtained place him in a good position (7th) in the national ranking list, with rightful access to the finals of the A2 and A1 national championships”.
“We came close to another bronze medal with the other athlete from Olbia Canu Dennis who participated in the 60 kg category. With 6 matches played well (4 won) he came close to the bronze medal in the 3rd and 5th place final , lost due to a penalty after another 3 minutes of golden score (extra time). However, an excellent result for the judoka who continues to gain good experience on the tatami beyond the Tyrrhenian Sea, with gold medal results in Tuscany and silver in Corsica. We are very satisfied with our athletes, all coming solely and exclusively from our youth sectors, we only work on them. These first results are excellent, in light of the first month of sporting and competitive activity, immediately after the summer holidays in July and August Soon we will be back on stage with the qualifiers for the national finals in Arborea at the regional federal technical center. Kan judo Olbia boasts an important youth sector, among the most numerous in Sardinia in terms of members always at the forefront of event organizations 61, then the 360-degree promotion and development of judo, also with school-judo projects in elementary schools and much more: all this since 1985, the year the company was founded”, concludes the note.
