New York would be ready to put together a package of players to acquire the services of the Dominican from Padres: Juan Soto. Being something that could be a win-win for everyone and thus, the superstar arrives in the Bronx. And young people who have already debuted in MLB can explode in San Diego.
Alfre Álvarez reported that the package from the Yankees to Padres for Soto would be: Austin Wells (C), Everson Pereira (OF), Oswald Peraza (SS/2B). The three players have already made their debut in the Major Leagues and would give a youthful dimension to the San Diego Padres. Both Wells and Pereira could come to the Friars and be important to have a consistent starter.
Peraza’s case would be more complicated. Given that the Padres currently have Ha-Seong Kim and Xander Bogaerts to play second base and shortstop. In addition to the fact that his second best prospect, Jackson Merrill, aims to debut in 2024. So it would be very intriguing what San Diego would do with the Venezuelan Oswald Peraza.
