There will be two NFL games in Frankfurt in November, but when will the NBA basketball league come to Germany? League boss Adam Silver is hopeful for NBA games in the country of the basketball world champion.

Adam Silver, boss of the NBA basketball league, is hopeful that regular season games in the North American professional league will also be played in Germany in the future. “There is no doubt that Germany’s gold medal win will lead to an even greater increase in interest in the sport. And that will also help us get back to Germany,” said Silver on Thursday at ran. In the season that starts next week, away from the USA and Canada, games will take place in Mexico City and Paris.

There have already been several preparation games in Germany, but no regular season match yet. “Europe and especially Germany are enormously important for us. Apart from the United States, most of the players who play in our league come from here. There is a strong economy, strong interest, strong sporting tradition, like in Germany,” said the 61-year-old. The official assured the NBA’s ambitions that they would “love to come back.”
The American football league NFL will play two regular season games in Frankfurt on November 5th and 12th. The premiere took place in Munich last year. This could soon be the case in the NBA. “However, in connection with the pandemic, there has been a small setback in terms of some of our international travel. So we’ve now reset our plans and are taking another look at many of these markets,” Silver said.
