Moroccan Ikram Bensalem won the bronze medal (+78 kg) during the European Senior Judo Championship, organized on October 14 and 15 in Malaga, Spain.
The Moroccan judoka won in the first round against the Spaniard Unate Atcibiria, before beating the Croatian Tina Radic in the quarter-finals. She lost in the semi-final against Frenchwoman Fatoumata Bairo.
In the fight for third place, she beat German Amani Kuester.
The national team which took part in this international event was composed of Aziza Chakir (-48 kg), Chaimae Taibi (-63 kg), Meziati Ahmed (-81 kg) and Jad Belgayed (-90 kg).
