Morelos Athletes Prepare for the 2024 National Games with Participation in the Rodrigo Solís National Badminton Tournament

With a participation in the Rodrigo Solís National Badminton Tournament in San Luis Potosí to be held during the first week of November, Morelos is working on the process towards the Conade 2024 National Games.

At least eight athletes from the entity will attend the tournament, confirmed the Morelense AC Badminton Association, through its president Antonio Carrera Corona.

After participating in the last edition of the Conade 2023 Nationals, where gold was achieved with the participation of Emiliano Carrera Gutiérrez in singles, the first gold metal in the history of this sport in the Under-15 category, Morelos is already working in a new process towards the upcoming fourth edition of the country’s greatest sporting event.

Within the preparation that is being followed, attendance is planned for one of the tournaments at this end of the year with a lot of tradition that is held in Las Tunas territory, and which will be attended by eight athletes, one of them Emiliano Carrera.

This is the Rodrigo Solís national tournament that will celebrate its 13th edition with activity from Friday, November 3 to Sunday, November 5.

This was announced by the Morelos badminton leader, Antonio Carrera Corona: “We will go to a tournament in San Luis Potosí in the first days of November, with participation of categories from 11 years old to free; we are going to participate with a minimum of eight athletes. In our activity at the end of the year we will have state championships between the months of November and December, those will be our first steps on the road to the Conade Games.”

He indicated that next year, the qualifier for the national fair will come.

“According to the federation’s calendar, the national qualifying event will probably be in February for the Conade Games; For now we only have this participation in the Rodrigo Solís tournament in San Luis, and in December we may possibly attend a tournament in Guanajuato that will be that of Pavito and the state teams,” he commented.

For the event in San Luis Potosí, participation according to the call will be individual in both branches, and doubles in single elimination.

The categories will be distributed in:

Under-11 born in 2014 and under. Under-13 born in 2012 and 2013. Under-15, in 2010 and 2011. Under-17 in 2008 and 2009. Under-19 in 2006 and 2007.

The Free or Open will be for all ages, and the Master for players 40 years and older, exclusively for doubles.
