Thomas Tuchel (50) answered questions from journalists before Bayern’s Champions League clash against Galatasaray Istanbul (Tuesday, 6:45 p.m.) on Monday evening – and suddenly found himself lost in one.

Because: A Turkish journalist speaks out, even speaks to the Bayern coach in German, and initially warmly welcomes him to Turkey.
Then the question that leaves Tuchel perplexed: “Do you know a Turkish word?”
Tuchel, obviously prepared for sporting questions, takes a deep breath, leans back – and has to pass with a smile.
“I definitely know a Turkish word, but I can’t think of one right now at the press conference.”

After a short thought: “You caught me off guard. I can’t think of it so spontaneously – bad of me, sorry!”
Then we continue with sports questions – and in Turkish.
At the end there is this pleasant scene: Bayern press spokesman Dieter Nickles ends the press conference and thanks the translator.
Tuchel steps in, asks: “What does thank you mean in Turkish?”, and immediately gets an answer.
From now on the trainer knows at least one Turkish word!
