Korea’s Badminton Team Upsets World’s Second-Ranked Team at Hangzhou Asian Games

Korea’s badminton team’s Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho dramatically defeated the world’s second-ranked team and advanced to the men’s doubles quarterfinals of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Choi Sol-gyu and Kim Won-ho won a close match against China’s Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang in the badminton men’s doubles round of 16 match held at Binjiang Gymnasium today (4th) and won 2-1.

Earlier in the morning, the mixed doubles team of Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jeong defeated Thailand’s Dechapol Abaranukro and Sapsiri Taerattanacha, the world’s fifth-ranked team, 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals.

In women’s singles, Ahn Se-young, world number one, advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Maldives’ Abdul Razak Fatimas Navaha.
