Keystone at Firelands

What: Lorain County League game

Where: Falcons Stadium

When: 7 p.m., Oct. 6

Records: Keystone 2-5, Firelands 3-4

Outlook: For the first few years in the Lorain County League, Keystone and Firelands was a showdown between two top-tier contenders. Though the programs are not where they once were, this matchup is still intriguing. The absence of Keystone quarterback Zach Shackelford has really taken a toll on the offense. Keystone’s 28-7 win over Brookside was the team’s highest scoring performance since the 41-0 win over Northwestern and their highest scoring performance without Shackelford. Running back Lucas Hurley rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns. Firelands always plans to bring a physical brand of football to the gridiron. The Falcons totaled 1,120 rushing yards, and the team’s use of a running back committee gives ball carriers fresh legs every play.
