Keon Johnson Departs Phoenix as Team Finalizes 15 Guaranteed Contracts

NBA – Phoenix had to part with one last player to move to 15 guaranteed contracts and it was Keon Johnson who paid the price.

Arrived in Arizona with Jusuf Nurkic and Nassir Little in the exchange with Portland which allowed the trade of Damian Lillard to Milwaukee, Keon Johnson will not have stayed long at the Suns.

Like Ishmail Wainright who had to be cut recently (and who finally bounced back in Portland), the point guard/guard will be the last Phoenix player to have to pack his bags, in order to allow Devin Booker’s training to ‘be in the nails, with 15 guaranteed contracts for the coming season.

Little used in

In Oregon last season, Keon Johnson should not have had many illusions in a roster built to play for the title. Unless he ultimately remains part of the squad thanks to the latest “two-way contract” available with the Suns…

This means in any case that Bol Bol and Damion Lee, despite his injury, have passed the “cut” and are among the 15 players retained by Phoenix to start this 2023/24 campaign.
