Johor Darul Takzim Coach Confident in Home Victory Against BG Pathum United

Solari stated that he was very confident that JDT could get three points at home to their opponent.

Johor Darul Takzim coach Esteban Solari stated that Jordi Amat was ready to play against Thai club BG Pathum United at Pathum Thani Stadium, Tuesday (3/10), on the second matchday of Group I of the 2023/24 Asian Champions League (LCA).

Amat was not played when JDT faced Negeri Sembilan in the second leg of the Malaysia Cup quarter-finals, and PDRM in the continuation of the Malaysia Super League (MSL) last week. At that time, Solari stated that Amat was recovering from a shoulder injury.

Now, Solari says Amat will be played in the next match. Amat was part of the group that went to Thailand. The JDT squad has arrived in Bangkok since yesterday.

“Jordi has been training with his teammates, and looks ready, and confident to give his best performance against BG Pathum United. Meanwhile Fernando’s injury [Forestieri] “It’s not serious, and has started training,” Solari was quoted as saying on the website Daily news.

“What I can say, JDT will field its best 11, and will work hard to bring home the three points. All weaknesses, especially in the aspects of attack and defense, have been corrected.”

JDT started their LCA campaign with minor results when they hosted Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale. They were forced to suffer a 1-0 defeat at home at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium some time ago.

The tactician from Argentina added that it is very important to combine all tactical planning among the coaching staff so that the dimensions of the game are more consistent.

“We know we will face a difficult match when we play at home, and face a team that has a quality line-up, and practices a solid playing pattern,” said Solari.

“I expect this will be an interesting match, because we will also play a match with high intensity, and increase tactical discipline not only to balance the strength of the opposing team, but also want to be more aggressive in pursuing the first win.”
