Apple confirms a bug in iOS 17

Given numerous complaints from buyers, last Saturday, Apple confirmed to CNET, an American media specialized in technology, that the failures in these devices are due to a bug in the iOS 17 software.

“We have identified some conditions that may cause the iPhone to run hotter than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring due to increased background activity. We also found a bug in iOS 17 which is affecting some users and will be fixed in a software update,” Apple said in a statement.

The technology company also reported another problem that involves updates to third-party applications such as Instagram or Uber, which overload the CPU of the A17 Pro chip, which could cause an increase in temperature in the devices.

“Some recent updates to third-party apps are causing them to overload the system. “We are working with these app developers on fixes that are in the process of being implemented,” Apple added.

Regarding the charging of smartphones, one of the innovations is that they are now functional with USB-C type chargers, so Apple mentioned that the iPhone regulates a maximum charge of 27 W, therefore, if a charger 20W or more, the phone may also overheat.

Although Apple did not give a definitive date to resolve the iOS 17 software update, it assured that once the problem is resolved there will be no impact on the iPhone’s performance.
