Injury Storm Hits Arsenal: Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey Out for Weeks

London – Arsenal is being hit by an unpleasant problem. A storm of injuries hit their squad. Most recently, Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey were also injured.

This makes manager Mikel Arteta extremely dizzy. Because Arsenal is struggling in various competitions.

Quoted from detikSportJesus actually performed brilliantly when Arsenal beat Sevilla 2-1 in the Champions League midweek, with goals and assists. Unfortunately, Jesus couldn’t play the full game due to injury so he was replaced by Eddie Nketiah in the 81st minute.

After that, Jesus had to undergo a series of examinations which revealed problems with his hamstring muscle. Conditions meant that Jesus had to be sidelined for a while.

This injury is also a blow for Arsenal, who lost Jesus at the start of this season due to a knee injury. Moreover, Arsenal relies heavily on Jesus in the attack line because the performance of Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz is still fluctuating.

“The results of the examination show that he has muscle problems and we may miss him for a few weeks. Meanwhile for Gabi, I can’t say for sure how long he will be out because he always gives surprises,” said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as reported Sky Sports.

“He felt there was a problem in his muscles when he made an unexpected movement. It’s true that he played too much in a few weeks, with the national team and then played in those games, which he hasn’t played in a long time. This is bad news for us.”

Not only Jesus, Thomas Partey also had to be sidelined for an indefinite period of time after suffering a muscle injury in a training session. Partey has been absent since last week due to a similar problem.

“He has a muscle injury and we predict he will be out for several weeks,” he explained.

“We don’t know how serious it is, he will undergo tests today. He had a knock in the last training session before the match against Sevilla. It’s very unfortunate.”

Jesus and Partey’s injuries are making Arteta even more dizzy, because he just went through a major injury storm a few weeks ago which sidelined many of his players. Now there are only three players left in the treatment room, one of whom is Jurrien Timber who has a knee ligament injury.
