Indonesian Badminton Team Fails to Win Medals at Asian Games 2023: NOC President Responds

Indonesian NOC President Raja Sapta Oktohari responded to the failure of Indonesian Badminton to win a medal Asian Games 2023.

The Indonesian Badminton Team failed miserably at the 2023 Asian Games after not being able to win a single medal, both in the men’s and women’s individual and team events.

In fact, it is hoped that badminton can become one of the sports that can contribute gold medals to Indonesia.

Indonesian NOC President Raja Sapta Oktohari also responded to the failure of the Indonesian badminton team at the 2023 Asian Games.

“I think all the results of this Asian Games will be used as evaluation material. We will communicate directly with all parties,” said Raja Sapta when met at the Asian Games archery venue, Friday (6/10).

“So it’s not limited to just sports, but with all parties involved in the preparations for this Asian Games. So we can prepare for the next multi-event,” added Okto.

The Indonesian men’s badminton team team was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Games after losing 1-3 to South Korea.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian women’s badminton team team was also eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing to China with a score of 0-3.

Apart from teams, Indonesian representatives also fell one by one until the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-finals of the individual event, Indonesia was actually able to get three representatives, but all of them lost.

The three Indonesian representatives who stopped in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Asian Games were Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
