Gravelines dismisses his trainer Laurent Legname

The three-run Betclic Élite season is about to claim its first trainer casualty. Laurent Legname was dismissed on Monday by Gravelines who announced “having initiated proceedings” against his coach. The BCM is bottom of the Championship – with Boulogne-Levallois – after having conceded six defeats in six matches. On Saturday, the Northerners sank in Dijon (69-90), the former club of Legname (2015-2021) with which he won the 2021 Leaders Cup.

Gravelines will be led by assistant coach Sébastien Devos on Tuesday at Denain in the Coupe de France, before welcoming Saint-Quentin on Saturday at Sportica. Legname is sidelined less than a year after his arrival, in November 2022.

The Varois had replaced JD Jackson and under his leadership, the BCM had finished at the gates of the play-offs after a good second part of the Championship. Already dismissed by Bourg-en-Bresse in May 2022 after less than a season with the JL, Legname sees his second post-Dijon adventure on the verge of ending prematurely.
