Golf, LPGA, Maybank Championship Boutier sort le grand jeu

Céline Boutier excelled during the second round of the Maybank Championship, reaching the top 3 of the leaderboard, just two shots behind a solid Jasmine Suwannapura in the lead.

After a difficult first round for the French n°1 (T40 to -2), Céline Boutier came back strongly in the second round of the Maybank Championship, in Malaysia. The winner of The Evian Championship 2023, annoyed by a first bogey at 10, finally signed a card of 64 after having chained 9 birdies on her last 17 holes, this Friday. This performance propels her into the top 3 of the leaderboard, alongside Peiyun Chien and Hannah Green, just two shots from the lead.

The solid 29-year-old puts herself back in the title race and hopes to continue on this path: “The strategy is the same. This course is very sensitive, so 36 holes remaining is a lot of golf, and you absolutely have to make birdies on a lot of holes to be in the running. I’m just going to try to be as aggressive as possible. I feel like I played really solid, but a few more putts would be even better. Honestly, I’m very happy with my game.”
