Controversy in English football over the tweet that Manchester United forward, Alejandro Garnacho, published to praise his teammate, goalkeeper André Onana. The Spanish-Argentine attacker has been accused of racism for posting a photo with two gorilla emoticons and the image of his teammate, of Cameroonian origin, hugged by several players, during a match. Garnacho could be sanctioned.

Although Onana played down the matter and came out in defense of the forward, the English federation did not like the publication at all. As in the Spanish league, in English football behaviors that constitute an offense based on race or sex are being looked at closely.

However, for the man in question, the Manchester United goalkeeper, it has not caused any offence: “People can’t choose what they offend me with. I know exactly what Garnacho meant: power and strength. This matter should not go any further,” said the Cameroonian. Garnachó deleted the publication immediately, but it gave time for it to go viral on social networks and the criticism was immediate.
