France had already, which is only part of hat 3, achieved the feat of beating Croatia, hat 1, twice a few days apart: last Thursday at home with a score of 5-2, and at Zagreb this Tuesday therefore. First trailing from the third minute of play, the Blues finally came back to score in the second half before snatching victory at the last second.

The Tricolores are first in their group with 4 points ahead of their runner-up, Croatia. They will play their last two matches against Slovakia, at home, on December 14 then against Germany, in Dresden, on December 20. A single victory over the two matches would be synonymous with historic qualification for the French team in the final phase of the 2024 World Cup.
