Do you feel that your car is running into your money when it “eats” 10 or 20 thousand CZK from your account every month? Owners have to shell out over 5 lakhs every month for this machine. And even then they won’t have it at home, let alone be able to go out with it in normal traffic.

In less than two months, the film Ferrari will premiere, in which the founder of the Italian car company was portrayed by Adam Driver. The film charts the events that took place in 1957, when the brand was on the verge of bankruptcy. She doesn’t have to worry about such a thing at the moment, she basically just needs to come up with any limited model to fill the company’s coffers. The latest one so far is the Ferrari 499P Modificata, i.e. a redesigned version of the racing special that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans quite sensationally a few months ago.

The default version of the 499P received some golden laurels due to the modification of the rules, which took place slowly just before the race and which gave the Italians a slight advantage over such a Porsche or Toyota. However, despite this help from the organizers, Ferrari understandably had to stick to the rules, which are more and more common in the racing world. However, as a result, drivers cannot even use the full potential of their “company cars”. However, the car company allows such a thing for a small group of customers.

It will, however, be necessary for those concerned to have really high-quality boards, because the 499P Modificata is the most expensive Ferrari in history – the automaker charges 5.1 million Euros (approx. 125.57 million CZK) for each piece. In addition, this is an amount without tax, which is only the starting point. Every customer will be able to have the car customized to their own image. For the given money, he will then own the circuit special for two years, while Ferrari will prepare nine races for a group of clients each year. Each year ownership of this car will therefore cost the owner over 60 million, more than 5 million per month.

What happens after the contract expires? The car manufacturer has not specified this yet, but it can be assumed that it will be possible to pay again for the same thing or hand over the car to someone else. So far, however, no one expects that people will be able to take the novelty home. Instead, they can ask Ferrari to deliver the 499P Modificata to a circuit of their choice – for that, as well as for the haul, but they still have to pay.

So we have a cow that will run out of milk repeatedly, and in considerable quantities. However, this is not surprising, because the Italians really did not have to limit themselves by any rules. For example, members of the Sport Prototipi Clienti program can use the electric motor mounted on the front axle even at lower speeds, not just at speeds over 190 km/h. However, the bodykit was also modified, which improves the cooling of the units and increases possible downforce.

At the same time, Ferrari has implemented a Push to Pass button on the other side of the steering wheel, which allows you to increase the car’s performance for seven seconds to a maximum of 870 horsepower. However, as standard, the device sends 707 horsepower to all four wheels, with 272 being handled by the front electric motor. At the same time, its performance does not change compared to the racing version, although the entire system has a maximum of 680 horses. The private clientele thus got a considerable herd on top.

Ferrari driver Olivier Beretta, who also raced in Formula 1 in 1994, said that he was very pleasantly surprised by the car’s behavior, especially in line with the fact that the carmaker had gone really far this time. His colleague Antonio Fuoco then achieved a top speed of 343 km/h with the racing version, while the civilian version, which cannot be used on public roads, should at least manage the same pace. In view of the higher performance, however, an even higher maximum is expected.

The car also uses custom Pirelli tires, and also received a new and somewhat more civil starting system. Among other things, the rear view is taken care of by a reversing camera that transmits the image to the digital rear-view mirror, while the driver can adjust the steering wheel and pedals. However, the seat is firmly attached. So here we really have a racer with everything, just not limited by a single rule. So there would be one thing: Don’t climb without money for the Modified. And in the end, even the money is not enough, Ferrari will decide for itself which of its best clients it will give the car to for the two years.

The Italians revealed the 499P Modificata model, which is a kind of superstructure of the racer that won Le Mans a few months ago. But since it will not be part of any official racing series, its creators did not have to adhere to any rules. Photo: Ferrari
