Cup party or the first frustration of the new season?
On Saturday (8 p.m.) it’s all happening in Ludwigsburg! Round of 16 in the BBL Cup: The MHP giants clash with the Telekom Baskets Bonn. There will be real fire in the duel!
The hosts are already making sure of this, as they are really heating up the new edition of the playoff semi-finals of the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga last season.

Review: In June, Bonn eliminated Ludwigsburg 3-0 after games and moved into the playoff finals against Ulm, the series became a Zoff duel. Bonn’s coach Tuomas Iisalo (41) accused Ludwigsburg of “wrestling” because of the hard pace, but they fired back that he should rather have “ballet” trained.

The words wrestling and ballet have been crossed out, but are obviously still an issue, as the following sentence in the post shows: “Since last June and the playoff semi-finals, there is still an unfinished business with the Telekom Baskets. This should be paid on Saturday – with you behind us, revenge is on the to-do list.”
In focus in June: Ludwigsburg’s captain Yorman Polas Bartolo (38) and Bonn’s superstar TJ Shorts (25). Bartolo defended so hard against Shorts that coach Iisalo drew the wrestling comparison. Ludwigsburg’s captain then suggested to Bonn’s coach that he might try ballet in training…

As is well known, Shorts and Iisalo left Bonn and moved to Paris, but Yorman Polas Bartolo is still a Ludwigsburg resident and will be particularly motivated on Saturday – not least after his club’s open revenge post!
