Conference League: Fiorentina-Cukaricki 6-0 – Football

Fiorentina resolved the Cukaricki issue with a clear and resounding 6-0, and thanks to the 0-0 draw between Genk and Ferencvaros, took first place in the standings (along with the Belgians and the Hungarians) in group F of the Conference League. A match that the Viola had already closed in the first half thanks to a brace from Beltran, the first goals in the Viola shirt, and Ikone. Then came goals from Sottil, Quarta and Maxime Lopez in the second half. Fiorentina, thus, makes up for the bad misstep in the championship against Empoli, also allowing Italiano to give some players a chance to catch their breath, Nico Gonzalez, Arthur and Bonaventura above all in view of the next championship matches against Lazio and Juventus. Ready to go and the Serbs are close to scoring: the ball is recovered in midfield in the setting phase to Maxime Lopez with Adetunji serving on the right Nikcevi who launches a sharp shot as soon as he enters the Viola area and the ball passes just over the crossbar. Fiorentina’s response was not long in coming and in the 6th minute they took the lead: nice throw from Ranieri’s own half, Beltran is very good at freeing himself from the marking, then from the left out he focuses and kicks with his right, scoring his first goal in the purple shirt. A minute later, then, the young Kayode had to come off due to a hard blow to the ankle (not sanctioned by the referee), another young player like Comuzzo came on in his place. A handful of minutes (10’pt) and Fiorentina doubled their lead: a free kick taken by Quarta for Beltran who from the midfield saw Belic outside the posts and scored an incredible goal on the fly. Beltran is unleashed on this Conference League evening: in the 22nd minute he comes very close to scoring a hat-trick, but the ball hits the crossbar. On the pitch there was only Fiorentina who reaffirmed their supremacy by scoring the 3-0 in the 29th minute with Ikone who after a good dribble in front of the area. In the 37th minute the Serbs were left with ten men due to a bad foul by Subotic on Beltran: initially the referee had warned the defender but once called back by the VAR he drew the red card. It should be noted that before leaving Subotic went to apologize to Beltran for the foul committed. At the beginning of the second half Italiano leaves Parisi in the dressing room, also in view of the next Fiorentina matches, inserting Pierozzi. As happened in the first half, Cukaricki was dangerous at the start of the second half, this time with Cvetkovic finding an opening in the gap. Viola rearguard but once he reaches the edge of the area his shot ends up just wide. The match continues with the same theme as the first half: Fiorentina in control of the pitch, always looking for a goal. And in the 21st minute the Viola play poker with Sottil (who came on in the 13th minute in place of Ikone, like Nzola for Beltran) who takes a splendid free kick from outside the area, surprising goalkeeper Belic. The Italian team doesn’t stop, they always reserve themselves in the opponent’s half of the field and in the 28th minute they find the fifth goal with Quarta doing well to slide into the small area on Sottil’s low cross. The Frenchman Maxime Lopez (38’st) also joins the Viola goal festival and directs the ball to the far post from long range with his right foot, leaving Belic frozen in place.
